Industrial Power Plant Testing

Experienced professional inspection services

TIS Northeast recently concluded an agreement with one of the largest energy and heat producers and distributors in Europe. As of this agreement, TÜV Rheinland is the leading testing body for the European energy producer. “In the current situation in the energy sector, this represents high appreciation for the work and services we have provided. For the regional area of TIS Germany Northeast, concluded agreements are an important element for future success,” commented local business stream managers Antonius Spier and Christine Klawun.

Such contracts reflect the decades of experience and expertise our colleagues in Germany Northeast have. Main focal points of our work are the power plants in the Lausitz region in Germany. As an authorized testing service provider, TÜV Rheinland examines all systems requiring monitoring. The combined capacity of the plants we test in the region is 4,800 MW.

Meeting industrial safety standards

We inspect the third largest lignite power plant in Germany. The 160 m high boiler, pipelines and pressure vessels, as well as hazardous areas and elevators, all require testing for compliance with industrial safety standards. A unique part of the test requires monitoring components in high temperature ranges up to 600°C. Particular attention is paid to these components because load variations, which are more common with renewable energy sources, can have an impact on the life span of the plant.

Our competence draws its tradition from the power plants of the 80s and 90s and is highly appreciated by our customers. “Energy companies appreciate our work, not only in the Lausitz, but also in Berlin and Hamburg,” said local business stream manager Antonius Spier. “In addition, our experts Andreas Eidner and Alexander Bibow have been working in the business unit managing team planning their the most recently built power plant in Berlin – Lichterfelde and Hamburg-Moorburg.”
